Siemens Energy: creation of a joint venture with Air Liquide


(CercleFinance.com) – Air Liquide and Siemens Energy announce the creation of a joint venture, which they will hold 25.1% and 74.9% respectively, dedicated to the mass production in Europe of renewable hydrogen electrolyzers industrial size.

The headquarters of this joint venture and its electrolysis module production plant will be located in Berlin. Production is scheduled to start in the second half of 2023, with a ramp-up to an annual capacity of three gigawatts by 2025.

This joint venture, whose creation remains subject to the approval of the competent authorities, will provide the two groups with modules to meet the needs of their respective customer portfolios and to serve a rapidly expanding market.

In addition, as part of this partnership, Air Liquide and Siemens Energy have agreed to allocate specific R&D resources to support the co-development of the next generation of electrolyser technologies.
