Silent Hill 2: Bloober Team finally returns to its words, the development is not close to being finished

We know since last year in an official way, Bloober Team is developing a remake of Silent Hill 2 on behalf of Konami. THE survival horror is expected on a date still unknown on PC and PlayStation 5, but according to a recent interview relayed and translated by VGC, development is almost complete and the studio reportedly expects to sell 10 million copies of the game.

However, Bloober Team just spoke on social networks to provide some clarification on the subject. The interview was conducted in Polish, the studio’s original language, then translated into English by VGCand obviously, there were misunderstandings. Bloober Team declares thus:

As Bloober Team, we do not comment on rumours. However, this time we have to speak up, as some recent statements have been taken out of context, due to inaccurate translations. Our company’s messages did not contain sales forecasts for specific titles. The numbers related to Silent Hill 2 refer to the potential success of the type of games we will be focusing on in the future.

Nor is it true that we announced that Silent Hill 2 is ready for release. Whatever the stage of development, all of our activities are focused on achieving the highest quality for the finished product – the quality that fans of Silent Hill 2 deserve. We are aware that players are waiting for more information about Silent Hill 2. As soon as this information becomes available, we are sure that Konami, the game’s publisher, will share it with fans.

Thank you for your support, we will continue to do our best to create high quality games that will give players the best emotional experience possible.

The remake of Silent Hill 2 is therefore not really finished and is not close to being released either. Nothing surprising in itself, Konami still remains quite silent regarding the promotion of the title, but things should pick up speed as launch nears. From here you can find Silent Hill 4: The Room To €7.49 on GOG.com.
