A variation of the horror franchise Silent Hill, “Silent Hill: Ascension” is an interactive series in which players/spectators will be able to determine the fate of its protagonists. Kicks off November 1st!
In October 2022, publisher Konami went all out during an online event entirely dedicated to a license so beloved by fans: Silent Hill. Numerous announcements on the menu, including a highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2; the film Return to Silent Hill that Christophe Gans has been concocting for some time, which will be an adaptation of Silent Hill 2.
And other variations of the franchise, including the one that interests us this time: Silent Hill: Ascension. The idea? Immerse participants from around the world into the heart of the psychological horror of Silent Hill in a new way: by placing the fate of the characters in an entirely new story in the hands of the audience as the story unfolds, which will be broadcast on several platforms.
Here is the official pitch given by Konami when the project was announced:
“Silent Hill: Ascension follows several protagonists in different locations around the world, all tormented by new and terrifying Silent Hill monsters. Lurking in the shadows, these monsters threaten to swallow up humans, their children and entire cities drawn towards darkness by recent murders, but also by their guilt and long-repressed fears.
In Silent Hill: Ascension, the course of history will be determined by the actions of millions of people. By the time the final scene is broadcast, which characters will have survived? Will they be forgiven, cursed, or suffering? Even the creators of the project don’t know how Silent Hill: Ascension will end. The fate of the characters is in the hands of the audience.”
An interactive story for spectators therefore. Note also that Bad Robots, JJ Abrams’ studio, is collaborating on this astonishing project, led by Genvid Entertainment, a company specializing in the creation of interactive content.

Kick off
Silent Hill – Ascension will be launched on Wednesday November 1st. Fans can get ready now by pre-ordering the free streaming app on the App Store or pre-registering on Google Play. It will also be available on browser at Ascension.com October 31.
The application can be installed from Tuesday October 31. Fans will then be able to enjoy some of the content from Silent Hill Ascension ahead of the global premiere on Wednesday, November 1 at 3:00 a.m., on the mobile app and on Ascension.com.
