Years after its cancellation, the case PT still sticks through the throats of fans of silent Hill, Guillermo Del Toro understood. The director was present during the Game Awards to quickly present his new film, Nightmare alley, while giving a prize, and slipping some references on the project silent Hill on which he had to work with Hideo Kojima. And if some were quick to believe that his statements were clues to a return of a collaboration between him and the Japanese creator on the horror series, it is not.
Just for the sake of teasing
Asked about this in the Happy Sad Confused podcast, relayed by VG247, Del Toro spoke about his time at the Game Awards to calm things down. He then declares that he has no game project in progress, and that his speech during the ceremony was mainly intended to slip a small tackle to Konami :
” I just wanted to titillate Konami, because I don’t understand. It was so perfect, what we were going to do was so exciting. “
The frustration is therefore still very present with the director, but this does not mean that he is working on a new game. silent Hill. That’s not to say that we won’t be seeing the series again soon, but probably not with Del Toro’s paw.
