Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is in intensive care. He suffers from cardiovascular problems.

The former Italian Prime Minister (86) is currently being treated for lung and cardiovascular problems in the intensive care unit at the San Raffaele Clinic in Milan. This is reported, among other things, by the largest Italian daily newspaper “Corriere della Serra” on its website. He has therefore already undergone a CT scan and is now waiting for further examinations and results. His condition is currently stable. He was previously admitted for breathing difficulties. His eldest daughter Marina (56) is said to be on her way to the clinic.

The head of the conservative Forza Italia party spent a few days in the clinic last week. He underwent “medical checks” from Monday to Thursday, according to an official statement. Previous complaints have returned. His son Luigi (34), his partner Marta Fascina (33) and his brother Paolo (73) visited Berlusconi in the hospital. He wrote via Twitter about a picture that shows him in his home after his release: “I’m already back on the most important issues of these days, ready and determined, as always, to commit to the country I love.”

So far, no official statement on Silvio Berlusconi’s health

So far, there has been no official statement on his condition, either from Berlusconi himself, from his company or from his party. Berlusconi has repeatedly had to be hospitalized in recent years, most recently last year because of a urinary tract infection. In September 2020, he had to be hospitalized for a severe course of Covid-19, including pneumonia. In 2019 he underwent emergency surgery for an intestinal obstruction, and in 2016 he had a new, artificial aortic valve inserted in his open heart.
