Do you think life should be a dance rather than a fight? We think so too – and that’s why we love this simple luck trick.

Maybe sad at first sight, but true: Life is not a lasting high point! It is more like a kind of sine curve – in a constant alternation of happy and unhappy times.

There is hardly anything we can do about that, but that is not a problem at all. Because it sounds so stupid and trite: The lows of our sine curve make us stronger. And they make us appreciate the highlights more! As humans, we get used to everything that doesn’t change, so that at some point we take it for granted and no longer notice it. And that would be a shame about all those beautiful moments of happiness, wouldn’t it ?!

The only problem is: When we are unhappy and feel bad, we usually don’t get very much baked, everything is difficult for us. And that’s a shame again! After all, we only have this one life (which has to go on even in unhappy phases) and we don’t want to “torture” ourselves … Therefore we love all tricks with which we maintain at least a minimum of satisfaction or even at low points can lift our spirits. And the following is really mega simple – and works as good as always.

Adopt a happy posture!

Basically, to help our mood, all we need to know is how to trick our brains. Don’t worry, it’s harmless! Surely you know the famous lucky charm effect of the smile: We smile and we feel a little better, even if our smile was only forced at first.

Exactly the same works with posture. If we assume an upright, happy posture (e.g. relaxed shoulders down and back, head up, neck long), this signals our brain: “Yay! Life is good, I’m fine and I’m bursting with confidence!” It can’t help but switch to “We-can-do-it” mode. The result: We feel a natural boost in moodthat works better than any drug (mainly because it doesn’t cloud our consciousness at the same time …).

So that the trick works particularly well, you can pay attention at the next opportunity (or experiment in front of the mirror) how exactly your personal happiness actually looks and feels. How do you react physically when you are happy? For example, how does it affect your gait if you just got good news? Paying attention to something like this or trying out and practicing your own happiness reactions is guaranteed to be worth it! It won’t save you from the next phase of unhappiness in your life – but it can help you a lot in coping with it (standing upright and looking ahead).
