Filming for the second “Sisi” season has started. That’s what the six new episodes are about.

“Sisi” fans can be happy: the shooting for the second season of the RTL + series about the legendary Empress Elisabeth of Austria has started. Dominique Devenport (26) and Jannik Schümann (29) are currently back in front of the camera as Sisi and Emperor Franz in the Baltic States, as RTL announced on Wednesday.

The shooting for the six new episodes of the second season will take place from April to August 2022 in Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. In addition to Devenport and Schümann, Désirée Nosbusch (57) as Archduchess Sophie and Giovanni Funiati (31) as Count Gyula Andrássy can be seen again. Newcomers include Murathan Muslu (40) as the Hungarian rebel leader Ödön Körtek, Amanda da Gloria (34) as Countess Emanuelle Andrássy and Bernd Hölscher (51) as Otto von Bismarck.

That’s what season two is about

In the second season, Sisi and Franz finally get the long-awaited heir to the throne with the birth of their son. But the happiness is overshadowed by the power struggles in Europe. Otto von Bismarck threatens to drive Austria into a new war. Sisi tries with all her might to be there for her husband and her country. When she has to travel to Hungary on a political mission, she meets Count Andrássy. Torn between her husband and the rebel leader, Sisi eventually faces a difficult decision.

the first season of the RTL+ series took viewers’ hearts by storm in December 2021 and delivered the most successful fictional reboot of all time on the streaming service. The second season is scheduled to be broadcast on RTL+ at the end of 2022.
