Six episodes, a mysterious plot, a golden cast and a great director: what is Full Circle on CANAL+?

Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the series “Full Circle”, broadcast from February 22 on CANAL+, promises a complex and thrilling plot.

We have to wait several dozen minutes, if not the entire first episode, for the plot of Full Circle to really take shape in our minds. For his new series, director Steven Soderbergh – who continues his experiments on the small screen – offers a twisted plot as he likes so much with several characters and two worlds which have, at first glance, not much in common.

A complex and gripping scenario

The story begins in Guyana, South America, when a mother (CCH Pounder) at the head of a mafia family loses one of her sons. Convinced of being targeted by a curse affecting her clan, she must attack another family, rich and located in Manhattan, to “break the circle”. She then hires two young Guyanese people to sponsor a kidnapping that will go wrong.

With Full Circle – six episodes – the filmmaker once again trusts screenwriter Ed Solomon – author of the Mosaic series and the film No Sudden Move, both by Soderbergh. On screen, the program is carried by a five-star cast: Claire Danes (Homeland), Timothy Olyphant (Justified), CCH Pounder (The Shield), Dennis Quaid (The Day After Tomorrow) and Zazie Beetz (Joker).

They all serve a gripping storyline, inspired by the film Between Heaven and Hell by Akira Kurosawa and punctuated by numerous twists and turns. “At first you think it’s a series about persecuted rich white people and then, as it goes on, everything starts to go wrong.says Steven Soderbergh in an interview for Collider. At the end, you find yourself in an environment that is no longer the same as at the beginning.”

Full Circle is broadcast on CANAL+ from February 22.
