Court orders imprisonment for Bayern professional

A Spanish court has ordered the execution of a prison sentence against Bayern Munich’s soccer world champion Lucas Hernández. The 25-year-old was convicted in December 2019 of violating a ban on approach and contact with his former girlfriend Amelia, with whom he is now married after the reconciliation.

The 32nd criminal court in Madrid ordered today, Wednesday, that Hernández must appear there in person on October 19 and serve a six-month prison sentence within ten days. The requested suspension was refused and he could choose the detention center himself. The day after, on October 20, Bayern will meet Benfica in the Champions. The game against the Portuguese record champions from Lisbon should therefore miss Hernández. FC Bayern did not comment on the judicial case of his professional on Wednesday when asked by SID.

In 2017, the professional was banned from contact because of a violent argument with his current wife. According to the court, the couple violated this by flying to Miami together a few months later. According to matching media reports, Hernández was arrested at Madrid airport on his return, but was released shortly afterwards.

The defense attorney is now also threatened with trouble because he had not done the 31 days of community service ordered in the course of the ban on contact. A conversion of the punishment now imposed for violating this ban on contact into precisely such charitable work, as requested by his lawyers, was therefore refused. His wife stays loud “AS” unmolested because, unlike Hernández, she had not yet been informed of the injunction – the ban on contact – at the time of the joint trip.
