Andrea F. * messed with the police. “With me, customers can sit inside even without a certificate,” says the landlady in a new video that was shared on Telegram by the well-known measures skeptic Robin Spiri this week. It wasn’t until the end of September that the landlady became known throughout Switzerland when she freaked out during a certificate check and was filmed.
Her restaurant in Zurich’s Säuilamt has almost 150 reviews on Google. Around half of them have been there since Blick reported their first breakout.
In the new video, the Italian speaks out again clearly against the certificate requirement. Robin Spiri titled it: “Now Andrea is talking.” With her attitude, the landlady from the Säuliamt has become an icon of the skeptics movement.
As an Italian, she was previously discriminated against
The background of the video is a tent that Andrea F. set up in front of her restaurant. There, if at least two out of four tent walls are open, she can also serve people without a certificate. But that’s not enough for F., she complains that her guests would get sick if they had to sit in the draft.
The policeman in the video doesn’t seem to want to explain the legal situation to her again. He says somewhat resignedly that all the other brewers would also stick to the rules. Andrea F. says in turn what she has been saying since the beginning: She doesn’t care if she loses money because of her opinion. You will continue to refuse to discriminate against people. As an eight-year-old girl, she was spat on for being Italian. She refuses to discriminate against people herself.
Checked 12 times, never displayed
But is that also true? Is Andrea F. a heroine of the skeptics because she even takes on the police? The landlady told Blick that the police had already been to her twelve times. However, she has not yet received an advertisement. A police spokesman confirmed this to Blick. Ringed the doorbell twelve times and nothing happened? How many warnings can a person receive before they have consequences? The spokesman says: “The Zurich canton police have checked the restaurant several times since the certificate requirement came into force until today. After certain deficiencies were initially identified and complained about, the subsequent controls did not reveal any violations of the Covid-19 regulation. “
The statements bite. Why do the police keep driving by when everything is okay? Andrea F. either pretends to break the law, but complies with the requirements. Or the police controls are beyond reproach. Blick puts the test to the test and drives to the Säuliamt on Wednesday. There is a weak light in the restaurant, but a note hangs in front of the door: “We will keep the terrace open for you during the certification period. The interiors remain closed ».
Why does Andrea F. do what she does?
It’s cozy in the tent, with patio heaters and woolen blankets against the October cold, a Freiheitsrychler T-shirt hangs at the entrance, advice on how to behave during police operations is on the table. It becomes clear: Andrea F. lives for what she says. But it also becomes clear: Contrary to what you say, the law is not broken here at all.
So why the show? Finally, the many police checks are obviously bothering her. Your nervous tension can be seen in the videos. To Blick, she says that because of the controls, she will also lose customers. She seems to be doing everything according to the rules, and the missions are not even necessary. She just does everything to suggest the opposite in public. The Instagram videos are published with her permission, she does not indicate the closure of the indoor area on the restaurant website, and she comments on the Google reviews with little heart emojis.
The police, in turn, are obliged to follow up on any evidence. She does not want to reveal whether this is the landlady’s videos, media articles, reviews or something else.
She hopes others will follow suit
Andrea F. does not give a real reason why she acts like this. She hopes other hosts will wake up too. In addition, it is not primarily about the vaccination. But about the right to one’s own body, which one must defend today. While she talks with a look, guests arrive, two elderly women. You describe Andrea F. as a “heroine”.
That was the first time someone had called her that. She by no means sees herself as a heroine. But she has become an icon nonetheless. Whether she wanted it or not. And if she continues to say something different than what she does, nothing should change in her status or in the regular police operations.
