“If someone had told me in advance that I would have finished fifth in the qualification, I would have taken it immediately,” admitted Fredi Berthold after qualifying as the second best Austrian for the finals on Saturday at the ski crossers’ World Cup opener. “After it went well in practice, in which I drove fourth time, I went into qualifying pretty relaxed.”
