Skin care: a radiant complexion even in winter

No stress, no too hot showers: If you want a radiant complexion in winter, you should listen to your body and do it good.

The summer tan disappears, the skin looks tired and pale. The natural glow of the skin is often lacking, especially on cold autumn and winter days. However, those who take sufficient care of themselves, their body and the right care can consciously help.

Reduce stress and drink enough

Tired me, tired facial skin. A pale complexion can be a sign that the night wasn't restful enough. Only those who give their body and skin the necessary time to regenerate can shine the next morning. And should the alarm go off too early: The cold invigorates the skin and stimulates blood circulation. The skin icing method only requires an ice cube, which – with or without a tea towel – is wiped over the tired skin. This immediately looks plumper and rosier.

Sufficient liquid also ensures plump, radiant skin. It is important that it is natural water. This is usually more difficult in winter, as warm temptations like sweet teas, mulled wine or coffee are waved. Nevertheless, at least two liters of water a day should be the rule. Those who do sport and sweat have to meet higher needs.

Sport has a vitalizing effect

Apropos sport: physical activity – at best in the fresh air – counteracts pale facial skin. Not only are blood circulation and metabolism stimulated, but also dirt particles that damage the skin are transported away through sweat. The result is vitalized skin that looks fresh and radiant.

To wash off the sweat, it goes into the shower. Here, too, the skin can be consciously done good. If the water is too hot, you risk dry skin and redness. Instead, use lukewarm water and exfoliate the skin once a week. Dead skin particles are a thing of the past – as is pale complexion.

Not only valuable in winter: iron and vitamin C.

In addition to sufficient exercise and proper care, diet also has an impact on the appearance of the skin. If the body lacks iron, this can be reflected in pallor and tiredness. It is therefore advisable to pay attention to foods such as legumes, kernels and seeds as well as meat, especially in the cloudy autumn and winter months. Vitamin C also makes the skin glow and is found in abundance in winter fruits such as mandarins and oranges or in broccoli, spinach or Brussels sprouts.
