29 Skoda trainees have designed a purely electric camper at the Skoda Academy. Projects of this kind have become a tradition at the Czech carmaker, and it is the ninth “trainee car”. Young people contribute their own ideas and are supported by employees from different departments.

In our opinion, the highly exciting high-roof combination project has a mobile kitchen, desk and an integrated monitor/television. The development was based on the premise of developing a vehicle that is used for working, sleeping and exploring. It is designed to appeal to digital nomads.

The basis is the purely electrically powered Skoda Enyaq (range according to WLTP: 495 kilometers). The new generation of Skoda provided this with a striking roof extension, which provides more space in the interior. Nevertheless, the prototype of the mini mobile home should have good aerodynamic properties. This benefits the range.

The external appearance is debatable. But at the latest a look into the interior of the e-camper should make many potentially interested people weak. A bench seat along the entire length of the vehicle serves as a workplace during the day and faces the 27-inch monitor opposite. At bedtime it converts into a bed.

The wireless mouse and keyboard find a permanent place on a wooden console. There is even a second job. There is a holder for a tablet on the passenger seat. In principle, however, the car is designed for one resident.

Espresso machine and foldable kitchen

Cooking is outside. So that no one has to stand in the rain, the participants designed an awning that fits the open tailgate. Foldable camping furniture, all of which have a permanent place inside when not in use, is also part of the equipment, as is a 12-volt espresso machine.

The project started last fall. Since then, the young Skoda employees have invested more than 2,000 working hours in the camper project. You can read more news from the camping and mobile home sector here.
