Skull & Bones: Deputy Director leaves ship, still no news from Ubisoft


It has been many years (since 2018) that Skull & Bones did not show up in pictures and over a year since no official communication has taken place, since September 2020 and a message from Elisabeth Pellen, Creative Director, who had promised news in 2021, which unfortunately did not arrive. It must be said that the development would be quite complicated, especially with a work culture where toxicity would be present, making it difficult for the project to progress well.

Recently, Anthony Henry announced on LinkedIn that he is leaving Ubisoft and the Singapore branch of Skull & Bones. He had served as Deputy Game Director since August 2017, but had also worked this year on one of the DLCs for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. His departure could therefore have certain consequences for Skull & Bones, which had seen its release postponed during the fiscal year 2022-2023, a launch window that seems unlikely, unless the studio has succeeded in drastically moving forward by submarine. let’s remember that Skull & Bones has been in development for eight years and has seen several reboots. From now on, developers would aim for a game-as-a-service experience, to make it a viable title in the long term. It seems very likely that what we were able to discover at the time, especially during E3 2017 and 2018, is no longer relevant. Hopefully the various concerns encountered are now swept away and thatUbisoft and its teams return in 2022 to show us the new vision of Skull & Bones.
