It is now 20 years since the famous Sly Cooper exist. The kleptomaniac raccoon got his very first video game on September 23, 2022, and with it he became one of the mascots of playstation throughout the PS2 era. It struggled to negotiate the move to the PS3, until it was really forgotten with the PS4 generation, so much so that it’s hard to hope for a return of the saga today, especially after rumors that turned out to be false. It is therefore under these very specific conditions that the license is celebrating its 20th anniversary today.
If not, a new game? Nope ? Nobody ?
As part of this 20th anniversary, Sucker Punch took a long post on the PlayStation Blog to take stock of the license. Inside, there are many anecdotes from certain artists who worked on the different episodes, which is always interesting to read.
We also discover a very nice new artwork of the first artistic director of the series, Dev Madanwhere we see lots of characters from the license with lots of winks and hidden details.
It is not the only product linked to the merchandising of this anniversary, since we find a unique t-shirt, for sale on the PlayStation Gear store. Finally, we also note the appearance ofa very cute plush toy for Sly of 23 cmwhich will be available from Fangamer.
And that’s all. No particular announcement, no new game on the horizon, none of that. An anniversary which is therefore quite shy, hoping all the same that the saga will one day come back to the fore.
