Increase in the level of the minimum wage and the price of the stamp, ban on certain plastic packaging, free contraception for women under 25 … Review of what changes on January 1.

Minimum wage automatically increases by 0.9% due to the price increase. It rises to 1,603.12 euros gross for 35 weekly hours worked. The gross hourly rate is 10.57 euros.

Complementary Health. The 2.5 million state civil servants can benefit, on request, from payment by their employer of their additional social protection contribution (mutual, insurance, provident institution) up to 15 euros per month.

Emergency patient package. The “remaining charge” for emergency visits not followed by hospitalization will no longer be calculated on the basis of the “co-payment” of 20%, but on the basis of a new “emergency patient package” set at 19.61 euros and also reimbursed by complementary health insurance. The amount will be “reduced” to 8.51 euros for certain groups such as the chronically ill (ALD) and others will remain exempt, such as pregnant women.

Free contraception for women up to 25 years old. Already free for minors, contraception will now be fully covered by Health Insurance for young women up to their 25th birthday. Three million beneficiaries are potentially affected. The device, which aims to fight against a “decline” in contraception, will cost 21 million euros annually.

Energy renovation. Launch of an internet platform (france-renov.gouv.fr) and a unique telephone number (0 808 800 700), as well as a unified network of advice spaces to guide individuals in their renovation work .

New environmental regulations for new buildings. The “RE2020” replaces the current thermal regulation, the RT2012. It reinforces the requirements in terms of energy performance, summer comfort and introduces requirements relating to the carbon impact of construction.

Single-use plastic banned. From this Saturday, the use of plastic undergoes a new turn of the screw. Here is the list of places where he no longer has the right of citizenship: end of plastic packaging around certain unprocessed fruits and vegetables, ban on plastic toys offered on children’s menus, obligation for establishments open to the public ( stations, libraries, schools, universities, hospitals …) to allow access to a drinking water point, ban on plastic packaging for the delivery of newspapers, magazines and advertisements, end of purchases by the State of plastic products disposable for use in the workplace or at events it organizes.

Collection of new in-store waste. Stores are required to take back used furniture, empty or full dangerous products (paints, glues and cleaning products with hazardous substances) and combustible gas cartridges from their customers.

Prohibition to dispose of unsold non-food items. Disposal of unsold non-food items is now prohibited. This ban concerns products covered by the extended producer responsibility sectors (clothing, furniture, electrical and electronic products, etc.), hygiene and childcare products, early learning and leisure products, books and school supplies, food preservation and cooking equipment. Companies must now donate or recycle their unsold products.

Extension of the legal guarantee of conformity. The legal guarantee of conformity for used products is extended by six months. From now on, a lack of conformity appearing within twelve months on a second-hand product is presumed to exist at the time of purchase, unless proven otherwise. A six-month extension is also applied to the legal guarantee of conformity for a device repaired under the legal guarantee of conformity. Concretely, if a new household appliance breaks down during its two-year warranty period and is repaired, the warranty is extended by six months.

Sorting: deployment of the “Triman” logo. The “Triman” logo will be displayed on all products. Responsibility for “market places”. Market places (Amazon, CDiscount, etc.) must ensure that manufacturers properly finance the eco-organizations responsible for managing the end of life of their product categories. The customer must be informed by his internet service provider and his mobile operator of greenhouse gas emissions linked to his internet and mobile consumption.

“Mobility permit”. Inspired by the meal voucher, it will allow the employee to pay certain expenses related to his home-work trips paid for by his company. It will integrate the sustainable mobility package – payment of travel costs using alternative modes to the private car, without contribution or tax, up to 600 euros per year – and will make it possible to pay for fuel or supply of electric, hybrid or running vehicles. to hydrogen.

Auto malus. A new scale of the automobile penalty comes into force for new vehicles registered from January 1. The penalty will apply from 128 grams of CO2 / km (instead of 133 grams of CO2 / km) with, for this level of pollution, a tax of 50 euros. It will then rise to reach 40,000 euros for a level greater than 223 grams of CO2 / km, knowing that the amount of the penalty cannot exceed 50% of the price including VAT of the vehicle. In addition, a new “weight penalty” will affect new vehicles weighing more than 1.8 tonnes, at a rate of 10 euros per kilogram. In both cases, large families can benefit from discounts and electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are not affected.
