SMITE 2: a sequel to the cult MOBA under Unreal Engine 5 announced, what about SMITE 1?

Almost 10 years ago, Titan Forge Games And Hi-Rez Studios launched on PC SMITEA MOBA free-to-play which has since been ported to consoles. The studios want something new and are now announcing SMITE 2, which will indeed be a sequel developed using theUnreal Engine 5. Big changes in sight?

SMITE 2 intends to take back everything that made the first part successful by making numerous improvements, the developers detail all of this:

SMITE 2 takes everything gamers love about SMITE and wraps it in cutting-edge graphics, animations, and gameplay. The UI has been refined, the sound has been updated, the effects are clearer, and the skills of gods such as Ymir are physics-based. The move to new core technology also allows for cutting-edge cross-play, a leaderboard overhaul with new levels and structures, and improved matchmaking.

Newcomers and veterans alike will discover new pantheons of gods, improved skill sets, gameplay changes, and revamped relic and item systems for deeper strategy and more impactful combat. In addition to a dedicated vision control slot and new dynamic map objectives, SMITE 2 introduces two sources of power – Strength and Intelligence – to diversify each deity’s skills and offer more nuanced play styles and more varied. The revamped item shop simplifies purchases and softens the learning curve for new players.

To honor SMITE’s 40 million players, a special program, Divine Legacy, has been added. It will reward players for their playtime and achievements over 10 years of SMITE 1, as well as for their purchases. Each gem spent will be converted into an Legacy gem in SMITE 2, which can be spent on new purchases. The Divine Legacy program will feature 11 unique skins, badges, mastery levels, and Cross-Gen skins that will work in both games.
