Smoked salmon and capons recalled as Christmas approaches


Shrimps, charcuterie but also foie gras have also been recalled in recent days. In question, labeling errors or the suspected presence of listeria.

Smoked salmon from the Petit Navire brand was recalled by E. Leclerc stores due to a labeling error, as well as capons from the Le Gaulois Professionnel brand for the potential presence of listeria, announced on its Rappel Conso website. .

The smoked salmon, distributed by the central purchasing office Galec, has a labeling error which presents two different use-by dates. The article concerned is a packet of ten slices of smoked salmon, weighing 300 grams and bearing the name ‘Highlands of Scotland’. The lot number is 10352143280 and the barcode is 3760253432306. Consumers have until January 4, 2023 to return the product for an exchange or refund.

Regarding the capons of the Gaulois Professionnel, they could be contaminated with listeria. Several copies of a product containing 2.5 kg of sautéed capon, marketed by Metro, Guillot-Cobreda and Palmidor, are affected by this recall. Three lots were taken off the shelves: 0362011368, 0362011538 and 0362011291.

Capon legs are also recalled (lots 0362011290, 0362011369 and 0362011292). They were marketed by Maison Farret, Rampal, Guillot-Cobreda and Metro. It is strongly advised not to consume these products, since listeriosis is a potentially serious disease causing fever, headaches and body aches.

These recalls follow many others. Several sheets have been published in recent days for foie gras from the Feyel brand, distributed between November 16 and December 13 everywhere in France, or for shrimp also potentially contaminated with Listeria bacteria.
