It was undoubtedly the event of this Saturday, May 20. And one of the most anticipated films of this 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival: for its tenth feature, Smoking makes you cough, Quentin Dupieux brings together an absolutely insane cast, made up of regulars of its cinema and newcomers. And almost all of the actors had made the trip to the Croisette, for the Midnight Screening.

At the photocall as on the steps, the director was thus surrounded by Alain Chabat, Anais Demoustier, Gilles Lellouche, Vincent Lacoste, Jean-Pascal Zadi, Oulaya Amamra, Gregory Ludig, David Marsais, Blanche Gardin, Doria Tillier… To quote them all would take a few more lines, because only Benoît Poelvoorde was missing. And it was a real triumph that awaited this beautiful world when they entered the room. And a long standing ovation.

And the madness was also on screen, for just under 80 minutes, as these hot reactions posted at the end of the session proved.

Smoking makes you cough doesn’t have a release date yet, but Quentin Dupieux will be back in theaters with Incredible But True on June 15.
