SNCF strike: how do I know if my train is maintained or canceled?


The SNCF strike scheduled for February 15 to 19, 2024 risks seriously disrupting train traffic. Some trips may be canceled. This is how to know if your train is maintained despite a strike.

The SNCF recommends checking train traffic the day before the trip, from 5 p.m. If you provided your contact details when booking the ticket, you will receive an SMS or email indicating the cancellation of the train.

It is also possible to use the SNCF Connect application to monitor whether the trip is being maintained. The information can be consulted in your tickets or from the customer account.

The SNCF Connect application can then be used to exchange the ticket free of charge, or cancel the reservation and obtain a full refund.

It is also possible to check the information about your journey on this page of the SNCF website. Simply enter your train number, departure date and click on “Search”. If the train is deleted, or only some of its stops, you will see it indicated, as in the following screenshot.

How do I get my Advantage code?

If your train is canceled due to the strike occurring from February 15 to 19, SNCF is making an additional commercial gesture, in addition to the free exchange or refund of the affected ticket. You benefit from a 50% reduction on your next TGV or Intercités trip. It takes the form of an Advantage code, to be used within 30 days of receipt.

If you made your reservation via SNCF Connect, or if you provided your email to make the reservation, or if you have an SNCF customer account, the code will be automatically sent to you. In an email sent to a journalist from the Numerama editorial team to inform her of the cancellation of a train, the SNCF indicates that the advantage code will be sent by “ one month maximum “. You must therefore monitor your mailbox until mid-March.
