Cori Broadus, the daughter of US rapper Snoop Dogg, has suffered a “severe stroke,” she says.

Cori Broadus (24), the daughter of Snoop Dogg (52) and his wife Shante (52), announced on Instagram that she had suffered a stroke. In her stories she published two pictures that were apparently taken in the hospital.

The 24-year-old writes about the first photo, which appears to show a hospital bed: “I had a serious stroke this morning. I burst into tears when they told me.” Another photo appears to show Broadus wearing a mouth and nose mask in the clinic. She asks herself, “I’m only 24, what have I done in my past to deserve all this?” She does not provide any further details. It is not known how she is currently doing. Her father, rapper Snoop Dogg, has also not yet commented.

Cori Broadus suffers from lupus

In September 2023, Cori Broadus spoke with People magazine However, about the fact that she has had difficult years in terms of health. She was diagnosed with the previously incurable autoimmune disease lupus when she was just six years old. At the time, she also said that she had stopped taking her medication a few months earlier because the constant use had made her feel like she was “going crazy.”

She was therefore “reliant on these medications her entire life”, but wanted changes. “I wanted to change because it was just too much. I’m only 24 years old and I take ten to twelve pills every day.” She simply went “cold turkey” of sorts. She goes to the gym regularly, but still struggles with “eating terribly” and “not getting the right rest.” It is “a constant learning process because there is so much more I could do.”

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a disease in which healthy cells are attacked, triggering an inflammatory reaction – which can lead to organ damage. It is not known whether Broadus stopped taking the medication in consultation with a doctor. However, such a step is not recommended. Patients should always discuss further action in the event of an illness with a medical professional.
