Snow White: “It’s fun to be mean” for Gal Gadot, new Queen of Disney live

During D23, which took place last weekend, Disney unveiled a first image of Snow White played by Rachel Zegler and the Evil Queen played by Gal Gadot.

After The Little Mermaid and Mufasa, Disney presented the first images of its live version of Snow White during D23. Actresses Rachel Zegler (West Side Story) and Gal Gadot, who respectively play Snow White and the Evil Queen, were present for the occasion.

Directed by Marc Webb, the feature film is the live action remake of David Kerrick’s classic Hand released in 1937. The animated film is itself inspired by the tale written in the 19th century by the Grimm brothers.

AlloCine met Gal Gadot at the event. The latter told us that she enjoyed playing the role of a villain.

The Evil Queen is a far cry from what I’ve done so far. I’m very grateful that I was offered the role of this iconic villain.

I loved every moment. I’m not used to being the bad guy but I have to say it’s quite enjoyable!*”

The interpreter of Wonder Woman then adds: “PFor me it was important to show that she is not just mean. I wanted people to feel his discomfort. She doesn’t feel safe, she’s jealous. It was important for me that we see the very complex relationship she has with Snow White.”

Walt Disney’s first animated feature to be released in cinemas, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs revolutionized the 7th Art. Worn by Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap and Martin Klebba, the live action version will be released in theaters in 2024.
