Andreas Prommegger celebrates his first victory in the still young snowboard season. The Pongauer won the parallel giant slalom in Carezza, Italy.
In the first round, the 42-year-old easily defeated Sangkyum Kim from South Korea. The Italian Roland Fischnaller, first after qualifying, was left behind in the semifinals. In the final against the Swiss Dario Caviezel, Prommegger was quickly behind, but was still able to celebrate in the end. For the double world champion of 2017 the first success in giant slalom in more than three years. Claudia Riegler already dropped out in the women’s qualification.
