(AOF) – Slawomir Krupa, Deputy Managing Director in charge of Corporate Banking and Investor Solutions activities at Societe Generale, has been proposed by the bank’s Board of Directors to replace Frédéric Oudéa as Managing Director. The board of directors of Societe Generale will propose to the shareholders at the general meeting of May 23, 2023 Slawomir Krupa as director to replace Frédéric Oudéa who had announced not to seek the renewal of his term of office at the general meeting of May 17. 2022.

Once elected, Slawomir Krupa will be appointed Managing Director by the Board of Directors.

Slawomir Krupa has over 26 years of experience in the international financial sector. Joining the Societe Generale group in 1996, he began his career as an inspector at the General Inspectorate. In January 2021, he joined the group’s general management team as Deputy Managing Director in charge of Global Banking and Investor Solutions activities.

Last May, the La Défense bank announced the departure within a year of its managing director, Frédéric Oudéa, after 15 years at its head.

“This choice is fully in line with the framework and the deadlines set at the General Meeting of May 17, 2022” specified Societe Generale. The latter informed the European Central Bank (ECB), which regulates the banking sector, throughout the selection process.

“His first mission will be to finalize the major transformations underway, such as the merger of the networks in France, the acquisition of LeasePlan by ALD, the growth of Boursorama, the continued development of corporate and investment banking, refocused on its key businesses,” said Chairman of the Board, Lorenzo Bini Smaghi.

On the stock market, Societe Generale shares gained 1.81% to 20.49 euros, in line with other banks.
