Somfy “vigilant” after a 0.7% drop in like-for-like activity in Q3

PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)–Building and home automation maker Somfy announced on Wednesday that its sales rose 3.6% in real terms in the third quarter but fell 0.7% like-for-like.

“Despite the deteriorated macro-economic environment, activity remained stable over the period, reflecting the promising structural trends in the housing market,” the group commented in a press release.

“Northern Europe and Central Europe, areas that had been marked from the second quarter by the slowdown in activity, ended the quarter with sales up by 3.9% and 5.8% respectively. % on a comparable basis compared to the previous third quarter”, added Somfy.

Revenue for the third quarter amounted to 361 million euros, compared to 348 million euros a year earlier. Over the first nine months of 2022, sales amounted to 1.2 billion euros, up 4.7% in real terms and 2.8% like-for-like compared to the corresponding period of 2021.

“In a still uncertain macro-economic and geopolitical environment, household consumption decisions are likely to continue to lead to a contraction in demand in the short term”, indicated Somfy.

“The group remains vigilant as to the evolution of the situation, and anticipates for the coming weeks an activity in the continuity of that of the last months”, underlined the manufacturer of automations for the building and the house.
