We now know a lot about Sonic Frontiers, but one important detail remains unknown. That of the release date of the title, although Sega keep telling us that it will be released in 2022. But a secret never stays secret for long these days, and it’s no big surprise that we saw a leak regarding when the title is supposed to happen.

On Twitter, the user Aozora pointed out that the game’s SteamDB page had been updated, and that it revealed important information to analyze.
The first one, it is the fact that Sonic Frontiers was first listed for release on November 8. A plausible date, but it must be remembered that Skull and Bones as well as God of War Ragnarok come out the same week. Sonic may be a very powerful mascot, but it may not be very prudent to compete against these two games head-on.
GamesRadar then noticed that the SteamDB page had been updated again, with a date change. Sonic Frontiers was then listed for release on December 3, which is necessarily more profitable for the blue hedgehog, but since it’s a Saturday, it’s hard to really believe it. In any case, we imagine that the game will come out well during this period.
Denuvo system or not?
The other information put forward concerning Sonic Frontiersit was the possible integration of the Denuvo system. Very controversial, this technology is used against piracy, but very often causes problems for users who have purchased the game.
The SteamDB page did list that the Denuvo system would be present for Sonic Frontiers, but the latest update removed this mention. It’s hard to know what it really is.
Sonic Frontiers is currently scheduled for release in 2022 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Switch.
