Sony Interactive Entertainment announces Firewall Ultra on PlayStation VR2

The shelving of Killzone does not mean that PlayStation is done investing in FPS. You certainly have to be a fan of virtual reality, but Firewall will therefore become a franchise thanks to the development of this second episode which intends to take advantage of the features offered by the new generation headset of the PS5. Gone is the plastic rifle or aging PS Move, Firewall Ultra has been developed for PS VR2 Sense controllers and will support gaze detection functionality, including intuitive weapon switching, we’re told.

Technically, the game (which takes place five years after its predecessor) will logically be much prettier and sharper in 4K HDR, knowing that First Contact Entertainment has reworked all the characters as well as the cards already present in the previous episode. New places, contractors and equipment will of course be included, as will a redesigned PvP mode and a new PvE experience.

Another good news, the online games will take place on dedicated servers. “We’ve also added rounds to the game. To win, you’ll need to win two out of three rounds. Additionally, we’ve got a whole new PvE experience. Also prepare for post-launch content, such as new contractors, as well as new maps and weapons“, can we read on the PlayStation Blog.

Firewall Ultra joins Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village, No Man’s Sky or The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners 2 among the titles announced for PS VR 2.
