Sony: Profit climbs 10% in Q3, possible listing of financial activities in 2025

TOKYO, Feb 14 (Reuters) – Sony reported a 10 percent rise in third-quarter operating profit on Wednesday, above expectations, thanks to strength in its financial, film and music businesses.

The group, which said last year it was considering a partial spin-off of its financial businesses, said it planned to list Sony Financial Group in October 2025.

Over the period from October to December, operating profit amounted to 463.3 billion yen (2.87 billion euros), exceeding the average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by LSEG at 428 billion yen. yen.
