Sonya Kraus was diagnosed with cancer in September 2021. The moderator had to have both breasts removed and had them rebuilt in another operation. In the VOX format “Showtime of my Life – Stars Against Cancer”, the TV star now dares to take a bold step and pulls together with other celebrity ladies.
In the last episode of “Showtime of my Life – Stars Against Cancer”, which ran on February 15, 2022, celebrity men like comedian Mickie Krause and actor Jan Sosniok impressed the VOX audience with their openness. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, the women followed suit – and dropped the covers. The message of the two-part documentary: Those who undress can save lives.
Sonya Kraus: “I want women to take preventive care!”
Among the celebrities of the season is presenter and actress Sonya Kraus, 48, who had a malignant breast lump discovered in September 2021 – one day after being accepted for the show. But instead of backing down and canceling the show, she wanted to fight cancer more than ever. Her appeal: “I want women to have preventive care! This doctor saved my life”.
She shows her breasts in front of a large audience
Together with model Lilly Becker, 45, actresses Susan Sideropoulos, 41, and Sila Sahin-Radlinger, 36, presenter Tanja Bülter, 50, and blogger and cancer activist Carolin Kotke, 34, Sonya Kraus clarifies her message with a striptease – pulls more and more in front of the audience in Berlin’s Admiralspalast. So far, until she finally shows her naked breasts, dressed only in fishnet tights and a thong. Sonya and Co. are rewarded with standing ovations and can rightly be proud of themselves.
Despite chemo she is in front of the camera
Sonya is currently in the middle of chemotherapy, which she was very afraid of at first. “Chemo was really such a monster for me that I thought: Chemo means you become a zombie,” explains the 48-year-old. But contrary to what was expected, the treatment is fantastic for her, as she says herself. Thanks to a cooling cap, she even retained most of her hair. And the always good-humoured TV icon also seems to be able to work at the moment. She is currently modeling for her own collection on the shopping channel HSE.
