Corona case in the Spanish royal family: King Felipe VI. has tested positive. The monarch showed the first symptoms during the night.

Now it has also Spain’s King Felipe VI. (54) caught: As the royal family announced on Wednesday (February 9)., the 54-year-old has tested positive for the corona virus after showing mild symptoms overnight. King Felipe will now isolate himself in his residence for seven days and carry out official duties from there. His general health is said to be good.

According to the announcement, Felipe’s wife, Queen Letizia (49), and her younger daughter Sofía (14) show no symptoms and can continue with their planned appointments in compliance with the Corona requirements. Her older daughter Leonor (16) is currently attending boarding school in Wales and is therefore not on site.

Corona at the Danish Royals

On February 9, the Danish royal family also reported a corona case: Queen Margrethe II (81) was affected. The monarch is showing “only slight symptoms” and is now staying at the Palais Schack, according to a statement. The Queen’s planned winter vacation has to be cancelled.
