Spain’s royal couple: Felipe and Letizia with their daughters

The Spanish royal couple Queen Letizia and her husband King Felipe with their two sweet offspring are a dream family that looks like they have just slipped out of a picture book.

How it all started

After his parents had already rejected two of his former friends because they were allegedly not befitting, King Felipe, then still a prince, met the bourgeois journalist Letizia Ortiz, now Queen Letizia. On May 22nd, 2004, the Spanish royal couple, accompanied by a lot of media hype and pan-European fanfare, said yes. The happiness of the Royals was crowned by the birth of their two sweet daughters Leonor (* 2005) and Sofia (* 2007), who was named after their grandmother.

Queen Letizia and King Felipe rarely give private glimpses

Unfortunately, we rarely see private snapshots of the Spanish royal family. In return, the royals give us dosed insights into their private lives with official photos, which prove that Queen Letizia, King Felipe and the two girls are somehow a completely normal family. Leonor and Sofia are picked up from school by their parents, walk through the park and spend their holidays on the picturesque island of Mallorca.

The royals fell in love like on the first day

We see Queen Letizia and King Felipe more often on official occasions, usually without their children. At royal weddings, international events or charity events, the two appear as freshly in love as they were on the first day. Of course, the dream couple is befitting and royal reserved when it comes to public turtling, but if you look closely, you will discover the unmistakable twinkle in their eyes.
