Special variants of ChatGPT are listed in this chatbot directory

Internet users have seized the possibility of designing specialized versions of ChatGPT. Although there is no official directory yet, solutions to find them have emerged.

These days have been marked by great chaos at OpenAI, the company that gave birth to ChatGPT. A disorder that arrives while the chatbot will soon celebrate its first birthday. It was in fact on November 30, 2022 that the conversational agent made its public debut. The dramatic events have not stopped. It was unimaginable to reach this point a year later.

The mess almost overshadowed the announcements made by OpenAI previously, during its first conference around ChatGPT. It was on this occasion that the arrival of a new language model (GPT-4 Turbo), a service to create a tailor-made model, or even the possibility of configuring personalized chatbots, without having to to code.

A directory for dedicated ChatGPTs

The chatbot editor already exists at this address (you must have an account on OpenAI and a subscription to ChatGPT Plus or Enterprise). There is also a mini directory offered by OpenAI, in which you can find the bots that you may have created, as well as those of the company. There are sixteen of them, as of November 21, 2023.

But to explore the creations of individuals, no deposit has yet been deployed – this is however planned, according to the announcement message of November 6, with the target deadline being the end of the month (but, given the disorder at OpenAI, this schedule is perhaps no longer so certain). In the meantime, unofficial options have emerged, such as GPT-List.

This is a collection of custom GPTs that you can install with just one click that will give your ChatGPT superpowers “, writing Alexey, which is the origin of the page. Each time there is the name of the person who developed the dedicated bot as well as a link to add it to their account. A description is also there to specify what the tool does.

For example, there is the Language Coach chatbot. “ Practice speaking another language like a local without being a local ”, it is indicated. A link then redirects you to OpenAI and the tailor-made chatbot. Then you just have to talk according to the specifics of the tool you want to take advantage of. Possible obstacle: all chatbots are presented and configured in English.

Another example: a prompt generator for Midjourney. Type your query, and the tool will suggest a formulation more suited to generative AI specialized in drawing. Then simply copy/paste this instruction into Mijdourney’s Discord channel — if you have an account on the service. You are free, of course, to modify, reduce or complete the prompt.

You will have to ask to respond in French, if you prefer, and make sure that what the sculpin says is believable and consistent with what you tell him. In short, apply a level of vigilance to what the tool says — we must not forget that this type of technology can sometimes “hallucinate”, that is to say respond off the mark or go astray.

Of course, you can also send all your requests via the classic version of ChatGPT, but you will have to do all the preliminary work to tell it what you want to achieve. With tailor-made bots, this step is in principle optional, which allows you to get to the heart of the matter straight away. It’s a way to save time and benefit from collective work.

As of November 21, the directory listed 138 specific chatbots classified into various categories: productivity, education, real estate, legal advice, computer programming, entertainment, travel, marketing, dating, etc. Some entries in the list have not (yet) been categorized. Other similar sites exist on the internet, such as GPTStore.
