Along with their extended family, Vogue Williams, 37, and Spencer Matthews, 35, spent their summer vacation in Spain. The Irish model shared several photos of the trip on Instagram, in which she beamed with joy at her loved one’s side. While Matthew peers cheekily over the top of his sunglasses, Vogue laughs boisterously. She writes: “I feel like I’ve been looking forward to this trip since January… It’s been a busy year so far and I’m enjoying every second with my family.”

Vogue Williams: Husband Spencer Matthews in hospital for overdose

Behind the scenes on Instagram, however, the journey hasn’t always looked as rosy as Vogue’s feed makes it seem. In her podcast “My Therapist Ghosted Me” she reveals in conversation with co-host Joanne McNally, 40, that her husband had to spend two days in the hospital – probably because of an “overdose”. Several family members suddenly fell ill while on vacation, including Vogue and Spencer. “Spenny was hospitalized for two days,” the model recalled, according to the Daily Mail.

She goes on to say, “I’ll tell you what, he overdosed on cold pills, I’m not kidding.” The amount of pills Spencer Matthews swallowed hit his liver. Then he was treated in the hospital for two days, “because he did it for a whole week, took ten of these things and he said, ‘Oh, they’re fine’.”

Spencer also wanted to give the pills to Vogue – but she was more cautious

When Vogue felt a “tingle” itself, Spencer didn’t hesitate. “He said, ‘Darling, take six of these and you’ll be fine,'” recalls the model. She herself was more careful with the cold tablets than her husband. After all, she notes: “You should only take two.”

But now Vogue’s story is a little different. The presenter had to row back. Apparently she embellished her husband’s medical history a little too dramatically. Matthew previously tweeted, half-jokingly, in a statement of his own on Instagram: “While a cold sore drug overdose sounds great, it wasn’t the cause of my death (Portsmouth News).”

In the podcast “My Therapist Ghosted Me” then had to backtrack on his overhasty wife, admitting she likes to embellish things from time to time. Spencer is “very well alive,” she explained. “I have to say we have to be careful, what we say about Spencer on this show, because that story hasn’t gone away and it has now been picked up by 43 news outlets. And I say, ‘It’s okay, it’s okay, I was just kidding’. But I really thought that was the truth,” she admitted.

“Basically, we both had a bacterial stomach infection, but I took what the doctor took literally and then spread it like wildfire on our podcast,” she explained contritely, adding, “I said it was cold sores – Pills. And that wasn’t the truth, I’m sorry for embellishing things sometimes.”

Well, Spencer will forgive his sweetheart. In the meantime – which is the main thing – everyone is doing well again: In Vogue’s Instagram story from August 13, her husband is romping around with their three children on a playground, while the overly imaginative mother is cheering on her loved ones.
