Spengler helped – roebuck got stuck in railings: police as rescuers

On Friday afternoon, officers from the Eberndorf Police Inspectorate rushed to the rescue of a roebuck that was caught in a bridge railing. The animal was freed.

The roebuck got caught in a bridge railing on the B82 in the Kühnsdorf area, Völkermarkt district, around 12:20 p.m. Officials from the Eberndorf Police Inspectorate rushed to the animal’s aid. By the time police arrived, the buck had already forced its head and both forelegs through the vertical steel bars. “Both hind legs were hanging in the direction of the road and the roebuck could neither go forward nor back,” the police said. Spengler helped with a fox’s tail. Before they arrived, the officials were able to stop a company car from a plumbing company. The employees immediately provided professional support and a steel rod could be sawed off with the help of a battery-powered handsaw. The roebuck was freed unharmed and released back into the wild.
