Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse runtime heralds one of the longest animated films

We now know the duration of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”: the film will be longer than its predecessor… and than most animated films!

The official running time for Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse has been revealed on the AMC Theaters website: the highly anticipated animated feature will indeed run for 2 hours and 16 minutes. In this second opus, after finding Gwen Stacy, Miles Morales is catapulted through the multiverse. There, he encounters a team of different Spider-Men tasked with protecting the very existence of the multiverse. But when a new threat emerges, Miles finds himself pitted against the other spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will benefit, in VO, from the voices of Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry Oscar Isaac or Andy Samberg.

The film hits our screens this May 31, 2023, while its sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse, is slated for April 3, 2024.
