Spider-Man No Way Home crosses the billion mark in the world. On the United States’ side, the Marvel film clearly keeps the lead in the rankings, despite the arrival of the sequels of Tous en scène and The Matrix.

TO REMEMBER

The billion is reached for Spider-Man! The new component, No Way Home, continues its impressive journey and has therefore reached this milestone this weekend at the global box office.

A result achieved in 12 days (from its US release), making it the third fastest film, behind Avengers: Endgame (5 days), Avengers: Infinity War (11), and tied with Star Wars VII : The force awakens“, as specified by our colleagues from Boxoffice Pro.

In the United States, Spider-Man continues to weave his web, largely in the lead. Despite the arrival of several new features, including All in scene 2, the Marvel hero remains firmly attached to the first place at the end of this Christmas weekend.

6 new releases made it to the top, including the sequel to Tous en scène, well ahead of the other entries, with revenue of $ 23.8 million. Note that the first part of Tous en scène started at $ 35.3 million in December 2016.

Matrix Resurrections is on the 3rd step of the podium. This 4th episode of the franchise gets off to a disappointing start, well below the previous games. Half-tone start also for The King’s Man: First Mission, in 4th place.

It should also be noted outside the top 10 the presence of films with limited releases in the run-up to the Oscars, including Madres paralelas by Pedro Almodóvar and Macbeth by Joel Coen.
