“Spider-Man: No Way Home” made a phenomenal cinematic release both in Germany and around the world. A record fell in the USA.

Is the cinema crisis triggered by the corona pandemic over for good? “Spider-Man: No Way Home” has at least the third most successful theatrical release – not since the pandemic, but all time!

In the USA alone, the third Spidey solo film with Tom Holland (25) and Zendaya (25) grossed 253 million US dollars. Globally, it was $ 587 million. This makes “No Way Home” the third most successful film release of all time, both globally and in the United States. The Marvel spectacle is topped only by parts 3 and 4 of the “Avengers” saga. In which Spider-Man also appears.

Since the two final “Avengers” films were released before the Corona period, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” had its most successful start in the USA since the pandemic.

Second most successful film in Germany in 2021

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” also got off to a lucrative start in Germany. However, it was not quite enough for the most successful start since the beginning of the pandemic. With 970,000 viewers and box office earnings of 10 million euros, the film ranks second in the 2021 annual charts. In front is “James Bond: No Time to Die”, which attracted over a million viewers to the cinemas in the first few days.

In Germany, the new “Spider-Man” doubled its box office income at launch compared to its predecessor “Far From Home”.
