Spie: Renovation of a conference center completed in Amsterdam

(CercleFinance.com) – French engineering group Spie said on Thursday that it had completed a conference room renovation project for the RAI congress center in Amsterdam.

Its Dutch subsidiary Spie Nederland has completed the complete renovation of the eight conference rooms, including the auditorium, which were officially returned yesterday following work carried out under very tight deadlines, in three months.

The multi-technical service provider specifies that the conference rooms required a complete renovation, both aesthetically and in terms of facilities.

Ceilings, walls and old fixtures were dismantled and a completely new heating, cooling and ventilation system was installed.

At the same time, kilometers of cables were laid for connections, data transfer and sound equipment, microphones and projectors, all rooms having been fitted with new acoustic coverings.

A suspended steel air handling unit (AHU) structure had to be installed to prevent it from resting directly on the roof.

Finally, switching from fluorescent lighting to LED lighting should make it possible to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 85%.
