Splinter Cell Remake: Original Storyline Will Be ‘Rewritten And Updated For Modern Audiences’

After years of speculation and rumors about the return of the franchise Splinter Cell, Ubisoft confirmed last year that its Toronto studio would lead the development of a remake of the first part. We are a priori still far from its release, but the objective is to make a modern stealth game that will respect the codes of the original.

Proof that the project is still in its infancy, Ubisoft Toronto currently looking for a screenplay for this Splinter Cell. L’job offer teaches us that the 2002 game’s story will be “rewritten and updated for a modern audience”. We will therefore not find exactly the scenario of the time, but how much will it be modified? It must be said that in this period when armed conflicts are increasingly present and publicized, and particularly in Eastern Europe, to speak of a coup d’etat in Georgia, of genocide in Azerbaijan and of a veteran secret agent of the Gulf War, this can involve some risks that deserve to take tweezers to fine-tune its story.

Using the first Splinter Cell game as our base, we’re rewriting and updating the story for a modern audience. We want to keep the spirit and themes of the original game while exploring our characters and the world to make them more authentic and believable. As a Writer at Ubisoft Toronto, you will join the narrative team and help create a cohesive and compelling storytelling experience for a new audience of Splinter Cell fans.

Hopefully the tone and mood of Tom Clancy’s Spinter Cell will not be denatured.
