Spotify buys FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou

There was the Orange Vélodrome or the Crypto.com Arena to replace the Staples Center. Digital players are investing in the sports field, and it is this time at Camp Nou, Barcelona’s legendary stadium, to take the name of a tech giant. The stadium will be renamed Spotify Camp Nou as part of a sponsorship deal with Catalan football club FC Barcelona. This agreement, for around 282 million euros, will also allow the music streaming platform to appear on the shirts worn by players. This will be the case for at least the next four seasons, starting from the 2022/23 season.

The partnership should also make it possible to use the Camp Nou for musical events, if we read between the lines of the press release published by the company. “Spotify will use this partnership to spotlight artists around the worldshe wrote. It will bring the worlds of music and football together, giving Spotify Camp Nou players and artists a global stage.” This partnership will be subject to the ratification of the assembly of members of the club, at the beginning of April, before being officially ratified.
