Square Enix will unplug Babylon’s Fall on February 27, 2023

Recalling having sought to deliver “an exhilarating online multiplayer action RPG“, PlatinumGames and Square Enix announce the upcoming shutdown of the services of Babylon’s Fall. If the reason is not explicitly given in the press release, it remains obvious: Babylon’s Fall is a commercial failure. Less than a month after its release, its attendance was already plummeting – a trend that was later confirmed, as shown by the game’s attendance data on Steam – which did not prevent Square Enix from keeping head held high and to affirm that they are working on their next seasons. The discourse today is quite different.

Still in progress, season 2 of Babylon’s Fall will end on November 29, as planned. The sequel, now renamed “Final Season”, will give players time to earn ultimate rewards and participate in the latest events. Indeed, PlatinumGames informs that three waves of missions will be implemented, the first with the arrival of the Final Season, then the other two in January and February. A roadmap which confirms the cessation of the game-service on February 27, at 8 a.m. French time, as well as the deletion of all the data contained on the servers.

Despite all your support, we are truly sad and sorry to announce that we will not be able to continue the service of the game. We hope that you will continue to enjoy playing Babylon’s Fall until the end of the service.“concludes the development and exploitation team of the game, whose long work will have finally taken a disastrous turn.
