Netflix will finally show the second season of “Squid Game” in 2024. Now there are the first pictures and a short clip of the new episodes.

About a week ago it was announced that the second season of the Netflix mega-hit “Squid Game” would start this year. The streaming service is now releasing the first images of the new episodes. Netflix also wants to boost the hype around the surprise series hit of 2021 with a short scene.

A The approximately three-minute video gives impressions of the streaming service’s productions that will be released this year. However, series and film fans only get to see the absolute thrill towards the end of the clip. Gi-Hun, the main character of the first season played by Lee Jung-jae (51), can apparently be seen in a few shots at an airport and receives a mysterious call. “You will regret the decision you made,” sounds from the receiver. Gi-Hun replies firmly, “I will find you, no matter what it takes.”

“Squid Game” becomes a chase

Of course, exactly which decision we are talking about and what the consequences are are not yet revealed. In a press release, Netflix only explains that Gi-Hun goes on a chase after apparently receiving this very call. The matching first pictures from the new episodes the service shows, among other things, on Instagram.

In addition to the main character, other characters from the first season will also return, including the front man (Lee Byung-hun, 53) and the salesman (Gong Yoo, 44). The actress Park Gyu-young (30) will also be seen. It is not yet known when exactly the second season of “Squid Game” will start.

The first “Squid Game” season was not just the series success of 2021. To date, no other Netflix production “Squid Game” has been able to take the crown in the in-house best lists. Users tuned in to season one for just over 2.2 billion hours in the first 91 days after its release. The fourth season of “Stranger Things” has around 1.84 billion hours, the first season of “Wednesday” has a good 1.72 billion hours.
