St. Gallen – residents heard a bang – three people are reported

In the last few days a loud bang could be heard in the Linsebühl district in St. Gallen at around 9 p.m. The police received several reports in this regard.

“At first I thought that someone would ignite the remaining rockets from New Year’s Eve,” says Roland Krebser, who lives in the Linsebühl district. According to him, however, nothing could be seen. “Maybe someone shot with a rifle,” Krebser continued. He has respect and I hope that they will soon find out what kind of bangs they are. “It sounded like a very large balloon burst,” says another resident opposite 20 minutes.

Police received a call just after midnight on Thursday that fireworks were set off at St. Fiden train station. Three people were stopped who were carrying various firecrackers and hand torches in a sack, as the city police reported on request. “People must expect to be reported to the public prosecutor’s office,” says Dionys Widmer, police spokesman for the city of St. Gallen.

The three people are a 19-year-old German and a 33-year-old and 44-year-old Swiss. All of the three men live in St. Gallen. It is now being clarified whether a connection between the bangs in the Linsebühl district and the nightly incident can be established.
