Stadel caught fire – neighbor sounded the alarm and prevented a major fire

That could have ended really badly. But an attentive neighbor prevented worse things from happening on a farm in Brandenberg in the Tyrolean lowlands on Thursday afternoon. A fire spread unnoticed by the farm owners in the direction of the full hay barn. Fortunately, the flames were stopped in time.

It was just after 1 p.m. when the neighbor of the property noticed thick smoke around the haystack. A stack of firewood in front of the barn had previously started to burn for an unknown reason. The fire ate up to the ceiling of the haystack. The neighbor sounded the alarm at the last minute. The farmer and his father went out with fire extinguishers and were able to contain most of the flames. In the meantime, the Brandenberg fire brigade had also been notified. This was quickly on site with 20 emergency services and was finally able to extinguish the fire. It is not yet possible to quantify the extent of the damage caused. Without the quick action of the neighbor it would have been considerable.
