Star Citizen – CitizenCon 2952: Lorville Redux


Lorville is the first urban area of ​​Star Citizen that has been implemented in game. This conference presents us with its next update: Lorville 2.0. This redesign is based on two reasons:

  • With Area18, New Babbage and Orison, the teams have since improved their tools and it is necessary to integrate them with Lorville to standardize the artistic touch from Star Citizen.
  • From the gameplay point of view: many missions are planned to be implemented in Lorville and the latter, in its current state, is far too small and needs to be enlarged.

Conceptual phase

Eric Gagnon, Concept Artist from the Montreal team presents his conceptual approach to the city with different drawings. This phase is essential to represent the new look of the city, the volumetric consistency buildings and thegeneral atmosphere translated by architecture.

Integration into the game engine

The integration into the game’s graphics engine of the concept is in progress, five artists are currently working on this subject. Maxime Guindona member of this team, presents the in-game implementation of the city.
