Star Citizen: Star Citizen and EVE Online are teaming up for a good cause

CIG and CCP, the developers of the Star Citizen and EVE Online titles have finally presented their future collaboration which has been in the pipeline for a few months. the “Battle of the Bricks”literally the “Battle of the Bricks” will therefore be held on July 22 and will oppose the two communities in the quest for the most beautiful achievements possible in Lego within the framework of a friendly challenge between the two communities.

The origins of collaboration

the December 14, 2021 lastCIG introduced us then a magnificent Vulture in Lego, a sublime creation of the player P_Rosso who did not take long at that time to react to the community manager of CCP. The official EVE Online account then responds to CIG’s tweet with a nice quip:

“Star Citizen, can I bring back a Venture? ?”

For those who don’t know, the Venture is a mining ship in the game EVE Online looking a lot like to vulnerability of Star Citizen, hence the spade. But for CIG as well as CCP, it’s only fair game and obviously that doesn’t pose a problem since following these exchanges, a partnership was formed to carry out a Lego construction competition between the two communities.

“We challenge our communities to create constructions in Lego? ?”

Battle of the Bricks

The competition takes place as follows:

  • From June 13 to June 27, you will be able to submit two types of creation: either a digital Lego model or a photograph of your creation.
follow this link to know all the details to submit your creations whether they are from the Star Citizen universe or EVE Online.
  • 5 days after the end of this first phase, a jury will select 3 creations from the two universes and prizes will be awarded to the 6 winners.
  • On July 22, a stream will pit two teams of developers from CIG and CCP against each other live from the CIG offices in Manchester on the official Star Citizen twitch channel with the objective of realizing the creations of the winners of the first phase. The small peculiarity: each one creates a creation from the opposite universe.

We should see great exchanges between the two teams, whether to share about the work of making video games or to talk about the common theme that binds us, science fiction.
