Star Ocean: The Divine Force, presentations of Midas and Nina, and introduction to Vyrians, Malkya and skills in videos

It’s next month that will be released Star Ocean: The Divine Forcea new role-playing game from tri-Ace and Square-Enix which will make us follow the adventures of Raymond Lawrence and Laeticia Auceriusaccompanied byHelena/Elena, Albaird Bergholm, Midas Felgreed and Nina Deforges. And precisely, these last two main characters had not yet had their presentation videos, until Thursday, to do with the English or Japanese dubbing according to your tastes.

Both are part of the kingdom ofAucerius and are gifted in their respective fields, which will undoubtedly make them an asset to our team.

  • Midas Felgreed is one of the most brilliant semiomancers and engineers of the kingdom of Aucerius. Although his thirst for knowledge often pushes him to ignore the most basic laws and ethics, Midas is nonetheless a man of principles who always finishes what he starts.
  • Nina Deforges is one of the few people able to wield the healing magic called iatrimancy in Aucerius. She tirelessly searches for a cure for the deadly disease that took her father.

But that’s not all, because recently, a third “Mission Report” was releasedserving to introduce the main enemies of the game. These Vyrians (in English) are called Gaston Gaucier (Sean Chiplock / Gakuto Kajiwara), Lola Jornaus (Faye Mata/Hibiku Yamamura) and Velanj Garfuul (Ben Diskin / Satoshi Tsuruoka), possess advanced technology and are believed to have ties to theEmpire of Vey’l who threatens Aucerius. They want to get the power to DUMAwhich they call the “planet eater”.

During the adventures facing these Vyrians on Aster IV, we will cross the road to Malkya Trathen (Laura Post / Yoko Hikasa), who knows Midasas well as Laeticia and Albaird since they were all young (as the world is small…), and is above all at the head of a people called Trathen living on Nihlb. More than just an ally, she will join the team as the 7th playable character, fighting melee using clawsthem Trathens can change the shape of their limbs.

On the game systems side, once enoughXP garnered, we show level and will then obtain of the Skill Points to spend to improve our skills or unlock new ones in a dedicated tree. And as already mentioned, by collecting gems, we will be able to strengthen DUMA, who will also have a whole range of skills. The latter will also allow us to execute powerful unique techniques via the system of Vatting, once the appropriate gauge is filled, or to activate a barrier nullifying the damage. And when not attached to the character we control, a baptized state Estery Cagehe can help the whole team, but the Vatting is then not accessible.

Next time we will have details on the crafting weapons and armor, as well as mini-games, including one with miniatures on a board.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is expected on October 27 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam). You can pre-order it on Amazon from €59.99.
