September 8, 2023 marks the 57th anniversary of the day on which the “Star Trek” universe first flickered across the TV tubes. Star Trek premiered in 1966 with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, and today the franchise is still hot with new series like Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

To celebrate this day, Paramount has prepared a little something. But a day full of stars and treks awaits us on the live TV channel Pluto TV. Introducing the “Star Trek Day” program to you!

Jerry O’Connell, who voices Commander Ransom in Star Trek: Lower Decks, will host today’s special. In the special, special attention is paid to the animated series. (Remember “Star Trek: The Animated Series” from 1963? The series is celebrating its 50th anniversary.)

There will also be a homage to “Star Trek: Discovery.” The series will come to an end next year with “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 5. It remains to be seen whether there will be a new trailer. In any case, this has not been announced yet!

However, there will be a new clip for “Star Trek: Lower Decks” Season 4. One day before Star Trek Day, on September 7th, 2023, the fourth season started with the first episode on Paramount+, and the clip will probably cover the next episodes. It may be revealed which cameos we can expect.

You can watch the special worldwide for free on the official Paramount+ account on YouTube or on the Star Trek website. The new mini-series “Star Trek: Very Short Treks” will also be published on the website.
