Star Trek Discovery: Will Book be pardoned early?

In the fourth season, Book was largely on the scene wrong Page. After the destruction of his homeworld, he joined forces with scientist Ruon Tarka (Shawn Doyle) to kill the unknown species responsible for the DMA. Book and Tarka’s reckless actions endanger the entire galaxy.

Michael still loves him, but the two have to go their separate ways because Book doesn’t escape without consequences. But now the two seem to be traveling together again and doing missions. Do their paths just cross or is Book allowed to follow? good leadership return to Discovery?

In the fight with the alien creature, which resembles a giant moth, Book uses his empathic abilities, which make his forehead glow orange. Book was also able to communicate with living beings and animals and perceive their emotions in previous seasons. Book hears that the giant moth is eaten.

The creature itself is new to the “Star Trek” universe. It can make itself invisible and thus has a biological cloaking device like some Klingon and Romulan starships. It is entirely possible that the creatures are intended to be used as weapons or that foreign powers want to make use of their ability to camouflage themselves.

In the 32nd century, in which “Star Trek: Discovery” is set, a cloaking device is no longer new, but the biological mechanism of completely camouflaging yourself is still exciting, so there are certainly galaxy residents who want to acquire this ability.

The giant moth can shoot, but what does it shoot?

In addition to the camouflage device, the moth also has a projectile that it shoots. At first it seems like something organic, releasing fungal threads like a spore, which then retract themselves. However, when Book is hit at the end of the clip, we see that the bullet looks metallic (see the last image in the series above).

Something shoots out of the metal piston like spider webs and is then pulled back in. It remains to be seen to what extent these projectiles are actually organic or were caused by experiments and the resulting mutations. However, it can be assumed that the giant moths could play a larger role.

The Beamer to Go and Tilly

An interesting gimmick in the clip is the extremely mobile projector that the two use to hop from one place to another in the middle of a fight. Extremely useful – and visually beautiful, as glittering dust remains and eventually pops up again when Michael materializes again.

One final detail would not be found in the clip, but on the poster that was published for “Star Trek: Discovery” season 5 (see above). All of our heroes from the last few seasons can be seen there, as well as Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman).

She actually left the Discovery crew in the fourth season to join the Starfleet Academy, which meant that it was assumed that she would only play a guest role in season 5. Her prominence on the poster now suggests that she will play a larger role.

“Star Trek: Discovery” Season 5 will premiere on Paramount+ in April 2024. We can also expect other new series and seasons next year. We list all new “Star Trek” releases for you!
