The fifth episode of “Star Trek: Discovery” is now available not only on Paramount +, but also in Germany in the stream. The episode is titled “The Examples” and revolves around a USS Discovery rescue mission.

Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Book (David Ajala) and Co. are to evacuate a colony from a planet that appears to be the next victim of the gravity anomaly. In doing so, Michael realizes that numerous prisoners of the planet should simply be left to die – as an example.

Michael and Book resist and save the prisoners as well, while one of the leaders of the planet, based on his own crimes and his judgments about others, decides to stay on the planet and commit suicide.

Meanwhile, Stamets (Anthony Rapp) is investigating the anomaly and realizes that it is probably not a natural phenomenon and that someone is behind it. When a condescending scientist comes on board the Discovery and is supposed to help Stamets, Stamets doesn’t like it at all.
